About Darren

Hello friend! My name is Darren Obong.

I am many things, a yoga teacher, meditation guide, sound alchemist, and a photographer. To keep it short, I am an artist and for the longest time, I struggled with having the confidence to even consider or call myself one.

I discovered I was an artist after I discovered yoga. This happened during a time of my life where I desperately needed all the benefits that the practice had to offer. During my early teens I was in and out of the hospital for chronic pain, aching joints, and a weak immune system. After countless visits and tests, I was eventually diagnosed with fibromyalgia. You can say that this was divine intervention. I eventually started seeing a Chinese Doctor and he recommended that I try yoga and boommmmm! Here I am. It was during my teacher training where one of the required readings was a book called “The Artist’s Way” did I really start to tap into my creative potential. I began to fall in love with the process of creation and how it helped me understand myself and others on a deeper level.

A yoga practice formed during a dark night of the soul has brought me to practice and teach yoga. Since then I have continued my education as a yoga teacher and have gone through extensive training on yoga therapeutics, meditation, breath work, dynamic vinyasa, pre-natal yoga, trauma informed yoga, sound healing, and functional movement and mobility. Curating classes, meditations, and holding sacred space is a form of art that I am passionate about sharing.

Along with these modalities that I offer, I am also a photographer. I love being behind the lens and capturing stolen moments and stories. I describe my photography as visual poetry and let my work speak for itself.

I so look forward to connecting with you.

With love,

Darren
